Many boys feel the need to be able to perform sexually, even during their first sexual experience. For this “group learning†session, I created a pared down bedroom environment to watch “soft-core†pornography. This not only created a space where the audience could view pornography and discuss sexual technique, but also examines the source material for this intimate knowledge.

“Bigger AND Better” is documentation from a performance where I invited gallery attendees to participant in public violence. After persuading an audience member to enter the ring through taunting, we would engage in a “wrestling” match. Instead of trying to win, I merely tried to keep myself from being pinned. I would struggle back and continue to taunt until the participant lost their sense of play and turned to violence. What starts as a friendly competition turns into a struggle for a public display of dominance.
